Brenda Welshans began her bowling career in the early 1970’s as a junior bowler at the Jersy Shore YMCA, where she served as league secretary.  Upon reaching adulthood, Welshans took on the job of junior bowling coordinator for that program for 6 years. Brenda also served as secretary/treasurer for numerous women’s leagues at the Jersey Shore Y, Harvest Moon, and Faxon.  Since 2018, Welshans has been on the local association Board of Directors, taking on the job of Association Manager/Secretary in 2021, when she instituted the annual Senior’s No-Tape Tournament.  She has also been a coordinator for area bowlers participating in the State Mixed, Open and Seniors Tournaments for several years.

 

Brenda has a career high average of 197.  Her career high series, achieved in 2001, is 738, and she bowled her career high game of 277, in 1998.  From 1982 to 2003 as well as 2018 on, Welshans participated in the State Women’s Tournament, and bowled in one WIBC National Tournament.
